About
Anderson Inc. History
Anderson, Inc. was started by our Great Grandfather Fred E. Anderson in 1940 when he traded his farm for a gas station and residence on the main street of Princeton, MN. even up. Fred bought and sold used farm machinery while operating the Standard Oil Gas station. Upon returning from the second world war, our Grandfather Lyle Anderson, went into partnership with our Great Grandfather. They took on the Oliver farm machinery franchise which included the Oliver Cletrac line of crawler machines and Great Grandfather Fred retired in the 1950s. In the late 50’s Lyle changed the business from the Oliver franchise to strictly selling used heavy equipment. Rodger Anderson and Richard Anderson, Lyle’s sons, joined our Grandfather Lyle, in the early 1970s and Lyle retired in the late 1980s. Now Bill Anderson and Bjorn Anderson, Rodger's sons, have both taken over the business while Rodger and Richard are retiring.
Our original shop was located on the main street of Princeton, MN. We moved to our current location, on the Highway 169 bypass around Princeton, in 1979, the same year we became a Minnesota corporation.
Anderson, Inc. has provided the Upper Midwest with quality heavy equipment services for over 70 years. With the fourth generation of Andersons now operating the family business, we hope to continue our services for many more years to come.
